On 27 September of current year National testing center meditated to carry out an engagement between the Minister of education and science Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov with the Managing Director of ETS Global Zoubir Yazid and Executive Director, Sales and Fulfillment Pascal Mevellec to discuss the matters about collaboration matters on the field of education.
ETS (organization, which design TOEFL test system USA, Princeton University) is independent and nonprofit organization, which researches and designs assessment aids on the field of education. ETS has more than 2600 employees working every of which efforts to satisfy educational needs of people, teachers, companies and other government authorities at locations more than 180 countries all over the world. ETS Global Institute renders wide range of educational services all over the world: researches educational system, teaching policy, certifies teaching institution lecturers, renders consulting services concerning the educational matters in universities and state educational institutions.
In addition, ETS administrates more than 50 million language tests every year, including tests such as TOEFL®, TOEIC® tests, GRE® General, Subject Tests, The Praxis Series™ in 9000 base lines situated in 180 countries all over the world.
Current year National testing center of Ministry of education and science Republic of Kazakhstan has begun a collaborative cooperation with the ETS and ETS Global on the field assessment quality of educational services. In the aim of realizing cooperation with ETS Global and developing the KAZTEST system, a branch of the activities of National testing center, on 20-24 June of current year were arranged and conducted a training with participation of ETS Global expert David Baum on the theme: «Design and development of language assessment aids». The KAZTEST system is a home system evaluating the level of the state language knowledge of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan as well as foreign nationals who are engaged in activities on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The KAZTEST system is based on the international systems experience of language assessment as TOEFL, IELTS, DALF/DELF, СЕLI, DSH, TÖMER, ТРКИ and others. The KAZTEST system is aimed to assess test taker’s communicative competences.
In the aim of harmonizing the home system KAZTEST with international language assessment systems and enhance to the international level engagement will be held in consultative character. During the engagement prearranged discussing the matters on assessment language level, longstanding experience appliance of international systems, appliance of outstanding science experiences, peculiarities of language assessment, which will conduce to systematize language teaching process. Engagement meditation establishes international scientific-methodical relations, and also increase KAZTEST system on the field of educational services.
